Cheaper Ferries
Some of the western channel routes from Portsmouth have become more expensive over the past few years, although they have the advantage of shorter driving times in France from the port (Caen or LeHavre) to Cambremer (approx 50 minutes).
For some time we have been using DFDS Seaways ( www.dfdsseaways.co.uk ) Newhaven (Brighton) to Dieppe at more reasonable prices.
Total journey time from Newhaven to Cambremer is 6 hours allowing for disembarcation, etc. (4 hours crossing)
Total journey time Portsmouth - Le Havre/Caen - Cambremer is 6 1/2 hours, allowing as above (5 1/2 hour crossing)
